چکیده

New bis-1,3,4-thiadiazoles 1–7 were obtained by the reaction of fumaric acid and N-(alkyl/aryl/cyclic)thiosemicarbazides in presence phosphorous oxychloride. The structures all compounds elucidated FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR elemental analysis. Antibacterial activity was studied for eight selected bacteria. Compounds 2–7 exhibited effect on Klebsiella pneumoniae. However, none Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Salmonella enterica serovar Kentucky, Serratia marcescens. Self-consistent force (SCRF) calculations performed DMSO medium to examine solvent energies using CPCM SMD models. 6-31G(d) 6-311++G(2d,2p) basis sets used DFT calculations. Besides electronic parameters such as electronegativity, electrophilicity spectroscopic examinations compounds, QTAIM, local electron affinities, Fukui analyses also performed. Theoretical approaches supporting experimental observations revealed that containing aromatic cyclic groups exhibit stronger antibacterial behavior than aliphatic groups.

Bis(N,N′,N′′-triisopropylguanidinium) fumarate–fumaric acid (1/1)

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(10)H(24)N(3) (+)·0.5C(4)H(2)O(4) (2-)·0.5C(4)H(4)O(4), comprises a triisopropyl-guanidinium cation, half of a fumarate dianion and half of a fumaric acid mol-ecule; both the fumarate dianion and the fumaric acid mol-ecule are located on inversion centres. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl groups of the fumaric ...

Syntheses, Antibacterial and Antifungal Activities of Substituted-Thiazolo-1,3,4-Thiadiazoles, 1,3,4-Oxadiazoles and 1,2,4-Thiazoles

Starting from readily available 2-substituted-4-methylthiazole-5-carboxylic acid hydrazide (1), The title compounds were prepared. The reaction of compound 1 (R=CH3) with formic acid yielded 1-(formyl)-2-(2,4-dimethylthiazole-5-carboxyl) hydrazine (2). Refluxing the latter with phosphorous pentasulfide in xylene afforded compound 3, the reaction of compound 2 with phosphorous pen...

Purification and structure elucidation of antifungal and antibacterial activities of newly isolated Streptomyces sp. strain US80.

A new actinomycete strain, designated US80 and producing antimicrobial activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi, was isolated from Tunisian oasis soil. Cultural characteristic studies strongly suggested that this strain belongs to the genus Streptomyces. The nucleotide sequence of the 16S rRNA gene (1517 pb) of Streptomyces sp. strain US80 exhibited close similarity...

AB INITIO QUANTUM CHEMICAL STUDIES IN CTAB

Quaternary ammonium compounds (QACS) are employed both as disinfectants for manual processing lines and surfaces in the food industry, and in human medicine area. QACS also cause cell death by protein denaturation . One of the QAC is cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) that appears to rapture the cell membrane. The primary site of action of CTAB has been suggested to be the lipid components...
